DS200ACNAG1ADD is an ARCNET (additional resource computer network) card manufactured by General Electric for its Mark V series. Mark V is part of GE's successful Speedtronic family of gas/steam turbine management systems. This series has been managing heavy turbine systems since the 1960s, and GE has developed more reliable and advanced systems as technology allows. Mark V performs triple redundancy backup for all key control and protection parameters, including built-in diagnosis, online maintenance and other functions.
DS200ACNAG1ADD card provides a connection point for ARCNET LAN communication in the MKV system. The board signal propagates on the path between the main processor boards (LDCC), through the ARCNET board, to the turbine control operator interface, and then returns. These signals are transmitted via coaxial cables. DS200ACNAG1ADD is a small circuit board with few components. The board has four metal film resistors (R1 to R4), three capacitors (C1 to C3) and a diode. A metal washer is inserted in the opening of two factory drilled holes on both sides of the circuit board. These two openings are marked GND1/GND2. Two relays are located near the bottom edge of the circuit board. Both relays include a relay diagram on their top surface. The relay diagram is a visual representation of the relay logic, allowing the relay to function. DS200ACNAG1ADD has three communication devices. This includes a vertical pin terminal connector with six pins located in the center of the circuit board, and two BNC plugs (right angle, female plugs) whose openings are located at the top edge of the circuit board. These plugs will accept LAN coaxial cables.
